FFA Officers: Shelby Dotson, Allison Ballenger, Karli Smith, Austyn White, and Alexis Jolly got a chance to meet Governor Parson this week.
Karli Smith and Allison Ballenger attended the Area VIII FFA speaking contest.
These ladies spent countless hours writing, proofing, memorizing, and practicing their speeches. We are proud of their hard work!
Karli Smith placed 2nd in the contest with her speech and will be advancing to district competition next week. Congratulations!

A fun day at the elementary!
TUTORING:
The high school will start tutoring after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning November 1st. Tutoring will be held in the library from 4:00-5:00pm.
Please contact the school at 827-0774 if your student is interested.
UPDATE:
Highway Patrol and Sheriff's Deputies arrived VERY quickly. The students have been released from the high school. Thank you to our law enforcement for their quick response!
IMPORTANT!!
We have a couple of suspicious males outside of the high school building. Nobody is leaving the building until Sheriff Deputies arrive. Hopefully nothing, but in the interest of safety we are holding the students for now.
The HIGH SCHOOL ONLY will release at 11:15 today. Busses will take HIGH SCHOOL students home at that time. Elementary students will have a normal school day and bus routes.
IMPORTANT!!!
Hughesville has a water issue and the high school is now without any water. According to the water department this will last for the remainder of the day. So, the HIGH SCHOOL ONLY will release early today. As soon as we have a time for dismissal it will be shared. The elementary will have a full day of school and will go home as usual.
Omegaman’s “Guardian” came to the Elementary today for an anti-bullying assembly. Many thanks to Mrs. Walker for putting this awesome assembly together for us!
Elementary 1st Quarter Awards Assembly
Ms. Amanda Riley has been accepted into the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Elementary Mathematics Specialist (EMS) Grant Award Program. She will be working toward a specialist degree through the University of Missouri Columbia.

Congratulations Bristen Douglas!! Bristen is a Junior High All-State Champion in cross country. He placed 13th out of 186 Class 1 and Class 2 runners. The top 25 runners were awarded All-State. Great job!
As a cross country teammate was giving all she had, pushing for her personal record, Alyssa Wombles slowed and grabbed her hand and helped her achieve her goal. In that moment Alyssa was not worrying about sacrificing her own personal record, she was helping a teammate.
