Per Missouri Statute all school districts in Missouri are required to test all water outlets for the amount of lead in the water by January 1, 2024. The lead testing initial test results and plan are attached. Currently, one of the old, porcelain drinking fountains in the high school hallway (which have not been used for years), the elementary dishwasher hand sprayer and the hand sink in the 2nd grade classroom are non-potable, not for drinking or for washing dishes. The initial test results are attached. Please contact the superintendent, Dr. Amy Fagg, at 660-827-0772 or afagg@nwmustangs.org with any questions or concerns.

In an ongoing effort to best serve Missouri students, we are asking that school districts assist us in recruiting educational surrogates. The Missouri State Plan for Special Education, pages 85-86 requires that Responsible Public Agencies assist DESE in recruiting educational surrogate volunteers and submit their names and addresses to the Department.
We have found that only a few surrogates are being asked to serve the majority of students in need of educational surrogates. In order to maintain a fair and reasonable division of assignments;
1. We need to recruit more surrogates, especially in our southwest, southeast, and central Missouri areas; and
2. We need requests to respect assignment limits of our current surrogates. We will not assign additional students to surrogates who are at or exceeding their desired workload size.
In order to assist you in your recruitment efforts, we shared a recruiting video on our Facebook page on May 15, 2022. We also have a YouTube video that can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_u8u5M28RI. Our Twitter page can be found at https://twitter.com/MOEducation where we also posted on May 15, 2022. Feel free to share these links from our social media pages.
Pages 84-87 of the State Plan outline the expectations for an educational surrogate. Our Educational Surrogates webpage contains all of the information that an interested party needs to know about becoming an educational surrogate.
